1. Saw him twice. Once in Minneapolis, and one of his final concerts in San Francisco, at the Masonic

Auditorium in San Francisco. Still have the program to that concert.

No one could play Chopin like Rubinstein. His touch was extraordinary

In an interview Rubinstein said that he used to play a piece of music like "this" and he played beautifully; then he said now I pay it like "this" and he played the same piece beautifully.
Side by side I can here differences between his younger self and older, but it is impossible for me to judge which is better.
