First Avenue here in Minneapolis has hosted just about everyone who is anyone over the years, but Joe Cocker played the very first show, after the building was converted from a bus depot to a music venue in 1970. The interior is familiar and unmistakable, and is seen at the close of this song when the camera sweeps the crowd.

Prince fans will instantly recognize it as the location of the concert scenes from the movie Purple Rain.
