(11,800 posts)As much as I love Ron Wood, The Stones hit their pinnacle with Mick Taylor....

(13,583 posts)was there. I like Woody too, but as soon as Taylor was gone, they went way down hill. Some Girls is good, but can't compare to Goats Head Soup.
Couldnt have said it better myself!
Really dig Brians last couple records too. But I agree. After the Taylor split, it just wasnt the same. Ill say this much in defense of the Ronnie era. When Taylor left music was at a rapid change. Disco, Punk, New Wave, Reggae, Etc. They had to change with the times to stay relevant. By the time Ronnie came on it had become big business, not just a group of musicians doing their thing. And theyve put out numerous tunes I love with Ronnie so I dont think Id go so far as to say way down hill, but I get what you mean and cant say I completely disagree.
