Though I love everything he plays/writes.

Seen him in concert a couple times back in the last century.

Once, it was opening for Clapton.
What a show that was.
55 minutes, Santana
2 hours 10 minutes, Clapton
45 minutes, both bands, including Latin percussion takes on Crossroads & Eyesight to the Blind.
Awesome night.

you could see a show like that and be able to afford it. I loved going to concerts like that. Boston was really close so I went every chance I had. Saw more music than I can recall all at once. A world away from now yet so incredibly similar on the political scene.

I was going into my 3rd and final year of undergrad.
There were some firecrackers going off that Clapton nipped by threatening to pull his band off the stage.
That's why the July 5th data is so easy to remember.
If was Chicago Stadium. We were right of the stage, about 40 feet forward of stage front. Great site line.
I swear we paid something like 8 bucks for those seats.
