(182,734 posts)and none of this surprises me. Just a read I got on Byrne early on. Yes he has turned into a nice persona.
Life during Wartime I asked someone about just this week and they had no idea that was the title. Great baseline.

(8,964 posts)many of their their songs appear as being closer to current reality, and not always in the most positive sense. Maybe they were decades ahead of their time, with what once seemed like abstract imagery becoming signs of the times as events unfolded. I'll reserve judgment on the David Byrne stuff. He was obviously the dominant creative force, although all four members of Talking Heads contributed equally to the overall sound. And I got a chuckle from the Lou Reed bit as told by Frantz. After all the dark foreboding lyrics with persona to match, it turns out he was an ice cream addict!

(86,508 posts)I always liked Weymouth's bass, I always though of her as innovative an very talented. Though I haven't heard much of their music, I liked the Tom Tom Club too.
And I have all of the Talking Heads albums along with a CD of Stop Making Sense. It looks like it was lots of fun to be in that concert tour as one of the musicians. I would have paid to be one of the background singers.
Byrne has always seemed like their was something different about him but it fit with their music somehow. The rest seemed normal.
