Bought a vintage Realistic tuner/amp ca 1974

at a yard sale for a couple bucks. Have the oldie rock station on and I’m flashing back to those days. Same sounds and tones of those days. Love the continuous dial tuner and volume controls. Just right without the clicks. Just have to find the right turntable now.

a lit up orange bar for the dial. Did spend some time and rubbing alcohol cleaning the nicotine off. But hey it was only 2 bucks. Looks almost new. Girl said it was her dads and he had passed away.

1970s Altech Valencia's? My SO has a pair in the garage.

I don't like them.

with money I made from my first real job, was a Rotel receiver and speakers. Later on a Technics turntable. I still have everything and it all sounds great. This from circa 1979.

at a Detroit car factory, I decided I need to establish credit so I took out $100 loan to buy a stereo. Next week I went in to make my $10 payment and they told me I only owed $7. They said I had made a larger payment a week ago. I said OK and thought, I kind of like this credit thing. They went out of business a month later and I waited few years and bought Suzuki 100A a guy at work had bought in Vietnam. Love to find one of those next.

I have my computer audio routed through it. It was originally my younger brother's and I had a bigger one. It has been in continuous use all this time. I should start looking for a newer one before it dies.

It’s a Pioneer SX-737 I bought in the fall of 1974. It still works, although it needs some work with contact cleaner. The Pioneer PL 12D turntable with Shure M91ED cartridge, and ElectroVoice EV16A speakers I bought at the same time are long gone.
