3. Ian is a cross between a gnarly bear, poet and rock flutist.

4. Unique artist, from a family of arts folks.

The odd opening remark about Johnny Cash in the 1976 Thick as a Brick performance was Ian being Ian I suppose.

Aqualung was another classic.

6. lucky you, in DC in the late 70s there was

a street guy who hung out in Georgetown who was the very image of Aqualung.

He didn't bother anybody, you'd just see him walking along, esp. M St., with long dreads of hair and unmistakable. He was even referred to as Aqualung with no malice intended. I hope he got some help, but don't bank on it.
