Joy Division - Atmosphere



This has two great memories for me:

1. New Order played it back in early March, just before everything shut down (yes, unlike in the US, we locked down and tried to get a control on the virus)

2. Last year of high school and a boyfriend who worshipped Joy Division...

I saw Hooky do a set of the two Substance albums - New Order for the first set, then Joy Division for the second. Closed the first set with True Faith and the the second with this.
Closest I've come to seeing either band, but exactly what I'd want to hear from both.

(Bernard sang the first bit of Krafty in Japanese dedicated to the fans in Japan who they'd had to bail on because of Covid. I think they did one show in Melbourne the night after the one I went to, and then cancelled the rest of the tour and flew out just before Australia closed its borders).

Merch-wise, they were selling some Joy Division t-shirts. There was definitely a huge acknowledgment of Joy Division and a really touching tribute to Ian Curtis...
