They know who DP is of course but Tommy was only with them a short while.

I saw him weeks before he died and he was amazing.

But I hope you are right, I take advantage of telling folks about him whenever I can. Around same time I saw this concert

I guess Tommy was 1976, what i remember about Robin was i couldnt hear for 3 days. Other than he was amazing too.

11. Just the one time at Winterland for me. Saw Queen around the same time, and I suppose

as much as I liked the Who/Dead concert or the two Led Zeppelin concerts (noted by the fight the manager had with Graham's people) or Bowie or Elvis or The Stones, Queen is the best live rocknroll I have ever heard or seen, though Pink Floyd "Animals" and Roger Waters last summer were good too.

I love rocknroll.

But nobody ever performed like those 4 guys. Freddie, oh Freddie.

WRONG not just once, what is wrong with me, I saw Robin about 15 yrs ago in a smaller venue. Not important where. He still had it.

I heard him do it at SIR in NY in the early 80s. A band I was working with had one of the other rehearsal studios that week.

You should listen to the Montrose version. I think Trower may have been playing it for the fun because he appreciated Montrose's work.

I am a drummer, when this came out I wanted to play it, was HARD

AS to studio work this might be the best sampling of what Tommy could do, his solo work was very good but oddly enough not heavy on the lead work.
