Leslie. Never forget seeing them live.

A friend of mine recently commented, "All the dragons are leaving the Earth, and taking their magic with them."

I never got into Mountain that much but was Mississippi Queen on a 45? Cuz I remember playing it relentlessly.

Was in Milwaukee, WI 1971. I was 17. A very wet Oktoberfest night. By the time we arrived, Poco had already left the stage early, in response to a bottle thrown at the band. John Sebastian came on next and sang in the drizzling rain. Then Mountain took the stage and Leslie West, with his Flying V guitar (now, in the pouring rain) blew away the crowd, with rainwater just running like a faucet off his guitar. Amazing performance. And of course, this was back when bands actually plugged in to their amps!
