Springsteen plays Chuck Berry . . . on an audience dare . . .

On his last few tours, Bruce has taken to playing "Stump the Band" with his audience . . . he invites folks to hold up signs requesting old rock 'n' roll numbers that they think might stump the E Streeters . . . he then wades into the crowd and picks one or more that he likes, flashes them at the band, and asks if they think they can do it . . . rumor has it they haven't missed yet . . .

this challenge took place in Leipzig in 1913 . . . the song is Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell" . . . if you've seen "Pulp Fiction," it's the number that John Travolta and Uma Thurmann danced to in the twist contest at Jackrabbit Slim's . . . I'll post that cut at the end, but first here's what happened in Germany on one particular evening . . . enjoy . . .

and here's the clip from "Pulp Fiction" . . .
