In 1966 my Yale dorm hired them a couple times. Their agent was a Yalie who waived his 25% fee, so we only paid their 75%, in today’s dollars, $6000. Recently elected Mayor John Lindsey, also an alum, was a friend of the Master at our dorm, and he and his wife would sometimes come up for weekends to get a break. Lindsey and his wife danced, very lovey dovey, seemingly happy to be away from judgmental eyes, surrounded only by us kids. Pretty darned cool so I always get a big rush of nostalgia whenever someone links to the Shirelles here on DU.
