Not trying to take anything away from Ann W. or Stevie--they are both great--but for range (five octaves), control, and sheer firepower, Annie is tops.

look up her 1983 live performance of "Ashes Are Burning"--it'll send chills down your spine. Another good one is "Mother Russia." I can listen to that one for days on end.
She REEALLY didn't get the recognition she deserved!
