(5,000 posts)4. That raging sax solo, was apparently the first of it's kind in pop/rock music.
IIRC, Alan Parsons had the idea for it, and during the recording session he knew of a sax player who lived just a few blocks away and called him on the spur of the moment to come in an play the part.
Screaming sax solos became a mainstay of pop/rock music for many decades after that.
I just love Al Stewart, he was a heavily played part of my music catalog during college and many years after.
