1. Their first CD was the first I ever bought

Back in '89! I heard a review or interview on NPR. Soon after, I headed off to an English teaching gig in Japan. I saw the CD in Tower Records in Sapporo and promptly bought it. Then I had to go buy a CD player. It was a monster, CD with dual tape decks. I still have tapes that I made from rentals. There were audio and video rentals back then. Amazing how durable good cassettes are. I just listened to Nagabuchi Tsuyoshi Live '89 in my truck which is just barely old enough to have a cassette deck. Appropriately enough, it's a Toyota.
