That's where I discovered. In Detroit, The Ghoul was based on Ghoulardi Ernie Anderson, I learned years later. He was a younger guy Ron Sweed (who passed away a couple years back). He was definitely the hippie answer to the more conservative (in demeanor not politics) Sir Graves Ghastly.

Doug Kenney grew up with Ghoulardi. His National Lampoon elevated dark humor and
unleashed Michael O’Donoghue on the world (SNLs first head writer).

Jim Jarmusch, Devo, Black Keys, Pere Ubu, just to name a few. All nod to Ghoulardi.

....only was he a Slovenian born in Davis, West Virginia, just like my great Aunt, but his parents met in a lumber camp, just like my grandparents. My grandfather was a logger and my grandmother was a camp cook.
