1. I used to live in Memphis in the late 1960s.

I forget how I originally connected with Furry.. I was active in the classical, and somewhat in the blues and jazz scenes in Memphis.

A couple times Furry came to our home for very small parties-get togethers, really. He would come in his pick up truck with, as I remember, his wife, or girl friend?? (I forget) He was always willing to play for beer but,, we insisted on paying him..

He had been a street cleaner downtown....

What a dear man.....
