If not, apologies in advance, but here are two amazing pieces I found on YouTube:
The first is Sly with Muhammad Ali on the Mike Douglas Show in 1974. Amazing in so many respects to have two giants together. Ali has some pretty brutal words about racism, and also debates with Congressman Wayne Hayes, who, shall we say, had a few "issues" a couple of years later. Sly seems a bit high here, but he is clearly the peacemaker. That was Sly's essential role in music and life: to say it didn't matter about color, religion, gender, etc...we're all in this together.
The second is a very rare radio aircheck from KSOL in San Francisco in March-April 1967, when Sly was a DJ and shortly before he and the Family Stone took off.
Love and miss 'ya, Sly....our nation turns its lonely eyes (and ears) to you.
