It's impossible to imagine the influence he would have had if he'd lived even a few years longer. We'd no doubt still have gotten performers like the Beatles and the Stones and Linda Ronstadt (she recorded a lot of Holly tunes), but he'd have owned the world of pop music.

Did you see the movie Yesterday? It supposes a world in which the Beatles never happened, except for this one man who remembers them and all their songs. Pretty well done. I'd love to see the movie or read the book that has Buddy Holly living to a ripe old age. Hell, it's not impossible that he might still be alive. He'd only be 84.
