Keith Freakin' Moon

Been listening to isolated drum tracks and I think my brain has melted.
His drumming was the craziest hot mess of awesomeness.

Seriously, my head hurts a bit from trying to comprehend it. How can it be so seemingly sloppy and simultaneously so perfect?? It’s different hearing his part isolated from the rest of the music. There were so many things (mini fills? micro fills? is that even a thing that exists?? wtf. was that technically a fill or a...?? Wtf was that?!) I had missed even though I’ve heard these songs a gazillion times. The grunting and yells are just the icing on the cake.

I love your increasing "WHAT the ______" trying to name
Moon's technic! 😁

'OO fan since '67. Seen them around 20 times:
68 - 89; 15 - '19. What a band!

I think I read someone comparing him with
Gene Krupoa.

That would be like a right-handed guitar player flipping his guitar around to play left-handed in the middle of a song.

He was truly amazing. To me, what made The Who so fantastic live was the way they almost seemed ready to go off the rails at any moment.
