(114,015 posts)I know every generation says this about the ones before, but I'm damned glad I grew up in an era of phenomenal music. The stars aligned in a way that, (sorry youngsters) I don't see happening again.

(1,617 posts)To fully appreciate it requires the listener to listen through high quality headphones and to listen to the entire album, start to finish. It's an experience.
And remember, they didn't have all that fancy digital equipment musicians and engineers can use now. They did it old school, which just makes the whole thing more phenomenal.

(15,372 posts)I saw the live tours for Animals, The Wall and Pulse.
The Wall had only 20 live U.S. performances. Ten in N.Y., Long Island and 10 in L.A. The first set was accompanied by stage hands building a "wall" of cardboard. By the end of the set, the back of the stage was filled with the wall. The wall stayed as a stage "warmer" during intermission. Then it was destroyed during the second set, "Tear down the wall."
