1. I Had Searched For Weeks For This Song That I First Heard in French Film Called 5X2

I couldn't even remember the name of the film but couldn't get the tune out of my head. It took me a few days to track down the movie name. The scene that uses Sparring Partner is one of the most captivating scenes I've ever seen in a movie. The original video for the song is quite unique and very sad too.

I learned of this song just today, thanks to a friend who'd heard it used as background music in a TV show. In researching it, I saw the references to 5x2. That looks like a poignant movie about intimacy, longing, and loneliness. The song evokes the same feelings.

I was instantly hooked by the infectious melody and beautiful chords -- not to mention Paolo Conte's passionate, gravelly singing voice! I bet I could sing like that too, if I hadn't quit smoking several decades ago.
