(14,491 posts)I still get sad when I see Scott Weiland. Same with Chester B. Same with Chris Cornell. Three of my all-time favorite rock vocalists. Gone too soon. At least their music is forever.
But now that I think of it, it seems like "guitar rock" is out of style these days. I mean, there is still a lot of great music out there, but just not as much like THAT ^^^
Yeah, I know there are lesser known bands out there I could seek out. I guess what bothers me is that record company execs seem to have cut the chord on that style of music though, so I don't just come across it on the radio or see it on awards shows and mega-tours, etc.
I saw Slash a couple years back at a small venue. It was SO amazing, seeing those fingers blaze that guitar from 20 feet away instead of on a jumbo-tron!
