... when they were still just musicians trying to get away from the pack. Before it was a business and they were stars.

4. Played This In A Battle Of Bands

Cool contest. (I suppose some of the "cool" was we won it 3 years in a row.)
Pick 3 tunes off their list of rock hits late 50s to early 80s.
20 to get on stage, play the songs, & get off.
All equipment used had to be what was already on stage. Drums, guitars, bass, keyboards, amps, ...EVERYTHING!
We made a major production out of it. Rotated the lead vocal line by line, then had harmonies in the tag line.
We won; guitar won best lead guitar, bass player was best bassist, and I won best keyboard.
$2,100 for 16 minutes of work!

We couldn't bring anything, except guitar picks & drumsticks! I can carry my picks in my pocket! LOL!
It was like an IROC race for bands. Totally level playing field, except for skills!
