an instrument in the soundscape. And he used it in this way masterfully ...

I owned Gish before Siamese Dream even came out, and this was the song that single-handedly made me a Pumpkins fan. So freaking badass ... I so wish they'd stuck to this formula past Gish and Siamese Dream ...

And I agree wholeheartedly about BC....he was so much better before he started believing his own bs

Billy doesn't have a good enough voice IMHO to make it so dominant like they (he) did in the work after the first two albums.

The way he used it on the first two records, it was like an instrument for the most part ... and it was awesome. He was like Stipe on the first 3 REM albums on Gish and SD.

Stipe OTOH had the pipes to make me want to hear songs where he was the focus on the later work.
