This is one of the best bands in the world. They have lots on YouTube. I have been watching them cover Earth, Wind and Fire "after the love is gone" the past few days. They are just the best.

around Florida recently. Here's their cover of Chicago's "Street Player," with Arturo Sandoval on trumpet:

The video starts off with, I believe, a Himalayan throat singer. Please correct me if I am wrong about the throat singer. But the song is really powerful and it seems to me to be something about reincarnation. It's really good.

The credits called it "overtone singing." It sounds like some exotic instrument.

Most of the live footage of Steely Dan on youtube was recorded with a cell phone so it doesn't sound great. But here it sounds like they recorded it well. I imagine that sounds about as close to hearing Steely Dan live. I wanted to go to the Steely Dan concert on October 22 in Charlotte, but that show is expected to be cancelled because of the delta variant. It would've been my first Steely Dan concert, too. I want to see it before Donald Fagen gets any older but the virus keeps f-ing it up. The fall tour was supposed to start in Miami but that will likely be canceled because in Florida you're not required to show proof of vaccination and Live Nation requires that. I heard the tour is supposed to start in Baltimore.
