listening to WCFL in Chicago. They were playing this song when the announcer broke in with the news that Jim Morrison had died. It was obvious it wasnt a planned stunt. I never cared much for Morrison, though I loved many of The Doors songs because of Ray Manzareks keyboard work. This one is my favorite.

(113,192 posts)2. I came to the Doors later. I needed some "age" to fully appreciate this kind of music.
They were very talented yet were probably destined for the flame-out that occurred with Morrison --ultimately ending in his death. But, I do appreciate their music and Jim's poetry in his lyrics.

Can't remember the year, but it was a damn good show. Ian Astbury did the vocals, and the band called itself Riders on the Storm.
