The Doobie Brothers lost their musical soul to MM. He's a great musician but he's got such a strong musical voice that he dominates any songs he sings. Even when he sang back-up for Steely Dan. McDonald has that strong of a musical presence.

Here's my favorite Doobie Brothers song:
