We had the chance to see them perform and on break I danced with Geno a bit, what a gracious gent. I kept up as well as possible and wow was I glad I'd studied French. Lol. Fun times. Tres bon.

(23,099 posts)Discovered Zydeco at NOLA Jazz fest in 2005, wow what a happy discovery. When we were still going, we always set up our chairs in front of the Fais Do Do stage (zydeco & cajun music) because there is so much great music there. I look forward to one day it being safe to go there again, so I can feast on the awesome food and my soul can feast on the wonderful music. They always have great blues bands there too and some major shows as well, like Elton John, Jimmy Buffet, Fleetwood Mac, Green Day, Santana etc. etc.

(41,131 posts)one time I visited and experienced its charm, food, history and vibes. What a culturally rich country we live in. I never attended a music festival in NOLA but would like to return and do that.
You're lucky to have enjoyed great music and treasures that the great city and area offer. I also hope things improve somehow.. (I saw Geno Delafose perform in Md.).
