1st I heard of him was when he appeared at Blues Week in St Louis a couple years after this song was released. He was no stranger to the festival circuit up and down the river.
I was lucky enough to see him free a couple times

I'm a fan of a couple bands that didn't translate to the stage but made great records.
I still like 'em but I can't be a BIG FAN of those bands like I am of artists who really bring it on stage

(16,861 posts)When you hear a performer you like from recordings and then he sounds just as good or better live, he seems more real to you. We have a lot of technology nowadays to help us feel connected to our music, but we still haven't come up with anything that's as good as a live performance. It seems that artists who are only able to do their music in a studio just aren't genuine to us.
