Bad Company, "Simple Man" (live 2008) - recced by Alison Krauss in an interview a few days ago

Interesting and quite funny interview for the Pass the Aux podcast (video below). She and Robert Plant were interviewed about records they liked. I've been looking at videos of their latest record, and the interview popped up and was a treat.

The final question was what they'd listen to if they were having a bad day. Plant named a Zeppelin song, "Misty Mountain Hop" -- and honestly it surprised me that he'd name one of his own songs, but yes, it can lift your mood.

I thought Krauss might name one of her own songs, or maybe a Zeppelin song -- but no, she remembered Paul Rodgers singing "Simple Man" for a VH1 special, a Bad Company reunion concert that almost has to be the 2008 reunion concert at the Seminole Hard Rock Live.

She had lots of praise for Rodgers, and it was interesting watching her sit there next to Plant while praising the vocalist who was probably his main rival in the '70s (though Plant himself has called Rodgers "THE British vocalist" ).

Anyway, a great song, and a great performance. And I'll have videos of Led Zeppelin and of the podcast interview below...
