Golden Earring - Vanilla Queen (live at Winterland, 1975, and studio version)

The woman's voice sampled for the studio track was Marilyn Monroe's in There's No Business Like Show Business.

is stunning there. Brilliant guitar solos.

All of them were so talented. They'd probably still be doing concerts if Kooymans hadn't gotten that heartbreaking ALS diagnosis. I'm praying there's a new, effective treatment soon.

Lots of good time memories associated with Vanilla Queen, a great song from a great album from a great band.

This is what I am looking for HPD. Great songs that reside on the fringes of my memory. That one was yanked out of a deep recess of my past. Bravo, and score one for you.

I'm especially happy with that Winterland video, though I haven't yet taken time to watch the entire 1-3/4 hour set.
