(76,119 posts)The 6 guitar tracks are electric tracks in the main song. That's the most at any one time.
In the piano coda, there's an acoustic guitar that is pretty clear in parts.
So, Dowd had to figure out how to mix 6 guitars, then had to figure out how to do 4 electric parts & an acoustic in the back 1/3rd.
That entire album is meticulously mixed. Another example of a bunch of guitars being mixed is on their version of Little Wing. Really dense, because there's 4 or 5 guitars on that.
Speaking of great guitar mixes: the reason why Let It Rain sounds like it does is that those signature riff chords was actually three tracks on the same guitar playing each note separately. It's a chord but with no vibrational interaction, so it has a unique sound.
