George Crumb, a highly eclectic composer, has died at age 92

He was a prolific classical composer who drew from many different musical styles and traditions. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize and the Grammy Award among other accolades.

Take a look at some of his scores. They are fascinating and beautiful works of art in themselves.
(or even just a Google search, though it doesn't really do them justice)

I always loved the Kronos Quartet recording of "Black Angels."
