I don't know how it couldn't make you feel good. And remember, we used to listen to these songs on 2-watt transistor radios or car radio AM stations. Still fun today. Thanks for the response HW.

I actually kinda miss those transistor radios with the 9 volt batteries sometimes. Can't remember being without one as a youngun'.

(Before someone says it: not the same as the phone.)

We were so hungry for music back then and everything sounded good even on those things. Damn whippersnappers got it made these days. (heh, heh)

My best friend and I both worked in casinos for years here in the South. We used to talk about the most requested songs from the different bands that played, and Mustang Sally was at the top of the list. They also liked Strokin' by Clarence Carter and Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. There were more, I just can't think right now. It was an hilarious and scary time. You can imagine how demented it would make someone to hear all of that shit over and over again, night after night.

they don't have words, or few words. I guess that's because I listened to a lot of classical and jazz when I was young. My favorite music back then was Beethoven and Charlie Parker. I was unusual. Wipe Out would have been a welcome change for me.

lyrics and music pretty much equally.

I used to run around with my roommates cousin and boyfriend's band when we were in our late teens, early 20s. And no matter where we went, almost without fail, some drunk in the crowd would yell out a request for Wipe Out.

I have never heard that song requested here in the deep South, and I have spent many a night as a captive audience listening to this garbage. I'm sure there are some they request down here that would seem odd to the people in your area. That is so funny to me! I'll bet 95% of the cover bands down here would be stumped on how to play Wipe Out! I'd love to see them being put on the spot!
