1971 - St. Louis, Fox Theater - Filmore-Mid-West. 15 discs, I think....total shows from 1971 / 1973 / 1975, I think.
This is the entire 1971 show. Amazing to see the jumps they made sonically, over the 3 annual over 4 years....

Loved this timeframe....they were a different band with Ron McKernan playing the B-3. This shows has Keith playing piano, though....sign of things to come.

(24,446 posts)Complete shows over 3 different concerts. Dead loved making the Fox Theater their musical midpoint, Filamore-wise.
Beautiful box set... he's really into the Dead (my fault as, me, the brother is 8 years older and more engaged with this band over the past 50 years. But Bro's son, is quite the acoustic guitarist and is heavily playing/learning the music....so, even better.

(24,446 posts)Vocals behind Bob and Jerry to start, but watch as the song transforms and takes on a whole different direction with Ron.....pretty great fucking jam/whatever you call it. I guess this was the sound that supercharged me back then.
