Some trivia here, re Brenda Lee and this song -- Golden Earring's hit "Radar Love" mentions her:

Brenda Lee's "Coming On Strong"

Earring's lead singer, Barry Hay, talked in an interview about his mom having been a Brenda Lee fan, and he liked her music, too. His favorite was "I'm Sorry" but that song title wouldn't have worked in the lyrics.
