(22,777 posts)are funny to look back at. Steve howling such hard rocking lyrics out of such a baby face with a giant cowlick, and Pete York looking like a hayseed in that plaid shirt and those sideburns.

(60,838 posts)Spencer Davis Group was how very young Steve was. He was still baby-faced when Blind Faith gave a concert in Hyde Park in 1969, too:

(76,141 posts)It was like an IROC race for bands.
Their drums, amps, instruments. No pedals for guitar players. Use what's there.
Had to pick 3 songs off a list of around 120 songs from the 60s & 70s. Had to be on stage, play 3 songs, get off in time for next act. 20 minutes between acts.
We picked this one for our closer.
We started it off with the Peter Gunn theme, then I introduced the band. Reprise the theme & broke into the song.
We rotated the lead vocal, line by line.
After the second verse, we did a breakdown where I inserted a jazz piano solo.
Then we finished the song.
We won the event, and all 4 of us won for best at each instrument. Very lucrative afternoon. Made $2,600 for 15 minutes!

(60,838 posts)just 15 minutes, but your band couldn't have done that without countless hours of practice and performances making it possible for you to turn this song into a showcase for every band member. And without being able to use your own gear.
