B.B. King - How Blue Can You Get (Live at Farm Aid, 1985)

I saw BB King sing this live one night in Oakland CA about the same time as this video, I think. He was part of a large group of performers, among them Charlie Mingus and Gladys Knight and the Pips (the headliners).

But anyway, he sings this and he's really vamping it up for the crowd, who clearly adores him. When he got to the line, "I gave you seven children," the crowd literally screamed, "AND NOW YOU WANNA GIVE 'EM BACK!" It was an unforgettable moment.

1. I love him. I saw him in concert at the Stanley Theater in Pgh back in

March 1978 (had to look it up) with Bobby Blue Bland. We were in the 3rd row from the stage. My husband and I were in our mid 20’s then. The 1st and 2nd rows were filled with women maybe in their 30’s/40’s. Every time BB finished a song they would call out “Ohhhh B.B.”” Besides the great performance, that was so much fun.

guitar string in mid song ? Love him.
