In 1977, Little Feat recorded its landmark Waiting for Columbus live album in D.C. ... Now, the band returns to play the album in full at DAR Constitution Hall on April 16.
Its thought of as one of the best live albums of all time, founding keyboardist Bill Payne told WTOP. Its the 45th anniversary of Waiting for Columbus, which was recorded in D.C. Were gonna play that record in its entirety. I think theres 17 songs on the original recording. Were going to jam, so it wont be a replication, but well do it in order.
The album was recorded live over four shows at Londons Rainbow Theatre on Aug. 1-4, then three shows at George Washington Universitys Lisner Auditorium on Aug. 810.
To any and all fans out there that were there for the original incarnation of this record, definitely come back and see and hear whats going on, Payne said. For those of you who have not caught this tour and are hearing good things, come hear it for yourself.

(20,584 posts)2. Wrote and sung ,Willin', one of my....
all-time favorites.
Well if you give me weed, whites, and wine
and you show me a sign
I'll be willin' to be movin'.
I smuggled smokes and folks from Mexico
been burned by the sun everytime I go to Mexico...............
I must have sung that song a thousand times if I've sung it once.... and it always brings a smile to my face.
People would ask "me who wrote that song"?
and I'd reply, "Lowell George, by George".

(20,584 posts)3. Little Feat. Most underrated band in history.
In my unbiased opinion, anyway.
Why they were never in Super Group territory I'll never know.
