(11,488 posts)I just like to post strange and beautiful music here. We've all heard the classics, it's nice to hear new artists.
The original is definitely great.

(76,723 posts)I kind of dig it because the words are interesting, it's well sung, & the horn parts are tight!
But, that guitar solo by Terry Kath is dreadful.
If it comes on the radio, I change the channel during the solo & try to get back for the ending.

(171,724 posts)really? I enjoy that solo
I think the remake is dreadful, both the song and the video

(76,723 posts)It's not at all melodic, repetitive, he misses the bends several times, and the tone sound like he needs to replace the speakers in his cabinet.
It's so brittle & tinny. His use of the wah is also hamhanded to my ear.
Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of the band. But, my "brousin" was a big fan so we played a lot of Chicago in his car. I did like Feeling Stronger Every Day, though.

(76,723 posts)...I know what I hate, & I don't hate this.
I'm always up for a radically different take on a classic song.
