Al Collins, Gary Rossington, Ed King, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, Artimus Pyle, and Ronnie Van Zant. They could crank out some decibels.

Gary Rossington wasn't any slouch either. Leon Wilkeson was a helluva bass player, and Ed King....well, he was Ed King. I liked the group better when Steve Gaines replaced King. Bob Burns was way over his head with the group, and Artimus Pyle was a fantastic replacement.
You know how I feel about Billy Powell.
Those wild eyed country boys were never destined to make old bones. They were just too damned wild to live long. If the plane crash didn't get them, the bottle and drugs soon would. I think Rossington is the only one remaining one of the original band.
