1. Back When I Liked Them!

Then in around 1975, i met DeYoung. I could never get past what a jerk he was to everyone.
Soured my impression of their stuff.

3. Major league a-hole from what I hear.

I liked The Serpent Is Rising a little (nostalgic). I was pretty sure I would hear from you on this one. Man, they hate Styx 'round these parts. Not that I blame them. The later stuff is lets say "not much to my liking". Be well Professor. It's fun to drop an obscure one occasionally. BTW, first big-name concert for me, along with Jo Jo Gunne.

4. Saw Them Multiple Times Back In The Day

First time i saw them, they were still TW4. (Tradewinds 4)
My dad was a liaison to the city for a promoter that held concerts every Monday each summer, in the city owned ice rink. The city wouldn't allow the use unless a local organization was cut in for charity. My dad was a bigwig in the Knights of Columbus, so he became the middleman. Got us back stage passes every week for 5 years.
After "Lady" broke (and they had changed their name) they headlined at the local national guard armory. We opened for the band that opened for Styx.
So, my contact with DeYoung was beyond that of a typical fan. He was a major jerk.
Further proof is that his own band wouldn't let him rejoin when his big dreams of Broadway didn't pan out. Even his own guys didn't want him around anymore.
