(67,112 posts)That was pretty much at his end, and he had really really gained a lot of weight. I always though he was great on Carson's show. He still looked the same, had a neat pink suit on, pretty much the same.

(6,819 posts)He was much more than a curiosity. For most of his life he was concerned with preserving old popular songs and performing them in the style of their original singers. He created an unforgettable stage persona that opened doors and helped him bring the music he cherished to the world.
