(32,599 posts)but I had a catastrophic fire in 1999 and lost pretty much everything. Oh well, restart and made better. Turns out you don't need the physical media anymore.

(32,599 posts)it was like every week (at least) an incredible great music bomb happened. All over the place. Bands with great musical ideas.....Byrds, Commander Cody, Dan Hicks, Humble Pie, Hendrix, Goodman, Prine, NRPS, the Dead, ABB, Hot Tuna, Buffett, Ronstadt, Harris, Raitt, Flyod, Reed and that's just a sampler....the list of great music was mind boggling...and I lived through it!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
