1. Fun Fact On The Original Version

Back in the day, I knew lots of guitar players that twisted themselves into knots trying to get that opening riff right.
But, it never sounded like the record, no matter what. Why?
Because Delaney Bramlett had Eric record those chords 1 note at a time on three different track. So, there's no harmonic interaction between the strings like there would be when playing all 3 notes on one guitar.
So, one actually can't get that exact sound no matter how expertly it's played.

Appreciation, not criticizing music or artists others appreciate (many people can separate the artist from the music). If you don't agree with someone's choice, you can just ignore the thread.
