(65,134 posts)...is one of the best things I've ever heard by Zeppelin on stage.
It's tight, well-balanced, and all the tones are really good!
I do wish the keyboard was a touch louder, but I'm nit-picking.
I don't like much of the live Zeppelin stuff, but this one is excellent.

(49,022 posts)best. You can find lots of video on YouTube from those concerts.
The reviews weren't as good for Knebworth. It had been four years since they'd done a concert in England, and punk rock had a lot of critics thinking Zeppelin had become passé. Robert Plant said he was too nervous, and even their manager said they were a bit rusty. But that was a brilliant performance of Kashmir.
The concerts at Earls Court in '75 got raves from the rock press.
I've posted some Earls Court video here before, definitely "Going To California." Not sure if I've posted "Stairway To Heaven."

(33,643 posts)I won't say it's uniformly excellent, and there's obviously some later studio overdubs (hello, No Quarter!) but the highlights are pretty great. Esp. in the newest remaster version. Video's pretty good too in this version.
Also the really early live videos circa 1969, where there's just a buncha kids sitting on the floor watching ... are absolutely killer.

(65,134 posts)I know I'm in the minority but I hated nearly everything in that movie.
Page does not play well, his guitar is out of tune on 3 songs, including Stairway, and on the heavier stuff it sounds brittle and pingy.
On Rock & Roll, they're dreadfully sloppy, and almost as bad was Black Dog.
Sorry, but we REALLY disagree on this.

Even though they aren't the best performances.
But young Zeppelin had a lot of energy.
And I have to admit I liked the way Jimmy Page looked then. (Not so much at Earls Court, and definitely not at Knebworth.)

(3,334 posts)Kashmir was their biggest song, not stairway. I can't remember where I heard or read that but there it is.
