- The biggest ever performance of Steve Earl's Galway Girl took place on June 11, 2016 in Galway City. A record 15,000 people came along for the show.

This song played once or twice in the US, had more play in Canada. Most people thought the words were "Africa, Benny" at the time.

Pretty sure these Shannon's have nothing to do with one another.
