"Blue" was female album of the century in 2000 if I remember correctly. Joni Mitchell is a national treasure. I love her.

Certainly one of the best albums of all time.

Here's another track from her masterpiece album:

You could select any track; they're all great.

5. Had too many windows open, but this is an album full of "best cut on the album" nominees.

My late wife would sing Joni's songs when this album was playing. I was 19 when we met in '71 and that trait made me positive I wanted to spend my life with her. When this song came on she got a playful glint in her eye and would get a little louder when "bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percolator..." and always laugh. Because the very first month anniversary of us living together I bought her a vacuum cleaner. Well goddammit, she didn't have one and mentioned how nice it would be to have. "All romantics meet the same fate..." I just did it early on. To get it out of the way.
This is the first Christmas she's not with us. I needed to play this today. Now I can enjoy the family without the heavy heart that I was worried about. Thank you for this post. Unbelievably timely to me. I love you all.
