(49,006 posts)the song in the studio was best, IMO. This concert for German TV's Rockpalast was a couple of months before they recorded the album, but it wasn't broadcast till just after the album came out, so lead singer Barry Hay gives the working title for the song then and the final title was displayed on the screen during the broadcast.

(1,996 posts)Wow, I really like this one and had not heard it before so many thanks! Golden Earring was sooo good and rocked American radio airwaves many times with their two most famous songs.
I was looking at your other post from the past with links to many of their great songs and I appreciate that too!
Have a great day and rock on!

(49,006 posts)so much more good music than their two international mega-hits, and "Con Man" is a good example, even though it was never released as a single. The studio version is great, too. I included reviews and a reaction video in the earlier thread to emphasize how good this is.
Re that list of Golden Earring songs in the reply at https://www.democraticunderground.com/103480101#post2 - I've posted some other GE songs since posting that list back in August.
The easiest way to search for anything on DU is via the Advanced Search feature in the upper right corner of every page here, under Google Search, which appears as Search This Group or Search This Forum at the top of board pages for each group or forum. With the large forums you'll have to narrow the date range or search will time out, but with groups like this one it's easy to search clear back to 2011. You have to be a Star member to use DU's own search, but you can donate any amount, and that search feature is incredibly helpful.
Though with this group it's most helpful if people post both artist and song title in the thread title. It's fine if you don't want to, if you want to use the thread title for some sort of personal comment instead, but having artist/title at the top always makes searches much easier. It helps me keep track of which songs and which versions I've already posted, in which forum or group, so I often try to add some detail about the version to the title as well.
